Yes, and they were not aware of how Bella's power became to be and that this would let themselves appear weak. Which they actually are now, compared to the Cullens.
So the Volturi left without letting us have our fun. :/

I think that Aro is out of his mind.

I mean, hes very intelligent, hes made it this far, but everything has gone to his head. When I say everything, I mean: Being old, power, jane, his wife, everyone else in the volturi, judging his actions only by how much more powerful they will make him, etc.

And when a leader is out of their mind, everyone who follows is out of their mind.

At this point, the Volturi is pretty much f*cked.

Aro was the one that wanted to keep the reputation of the Volturi intact. You have to remember that it was Caius who wanted the bloodshed (or venomshed, perhaps).

Of course, Caius is still awesome Wink

As Edward mentioned, Aro likes audiences and looking powerful. He's very indulgent like that. As long as people follow him and do what he commands, I don't think that he's all that bothered with wars and fights.

Of course. The Volturi have been through lots of fights to get to where they are. Aro did what was nesicarry to gain power. Caius followed for the fights.

Caius is awesome.
