Haha, this is really random but we had to write it for school and I decided to put it up. Just a forewarning, I didn't really take it seriously but I do have all the right structure (which sucked). Exactly 10 syllables for each line (we have to have exactly 14 lines). And then it rhymes like ABAB CDCD EFEF GG. We need to present a conflict for the first 12 lines and have it resolved in the last two lines. I couldn't think of a conflict, so I chose mine! Let's see if you can guess what my conflict was...
He sits there in the dead of night and thinks.
Tapping, taping his pen against the land,
The land he has created and it shrinks,
Shrinks from the mind and drifts away like sand.
He ponders where his story is going,
What do the characters decide to do?
Creativity shrivels to nothing,
He's stuck and considers giving up Sue (here's where I had rhyming problems. Hah!)
He's drawing a blank and a door is shut.
The characters are not speaking freely.
His mind runs free and is stuck with a mut (another rhyming problem!)
The dog's eyes are lifeless like his story.
Stuck with inspiration, words flow to him
Words fill the page like a drink to the rim.
Haha! That was horrible but what do you guys think? I have to turn it in tomorrow. It's not a major grade, more like participation but I really hate rhyming!
